1996 Internet vs. 2026 AI

In 1996, the Internet was driven from the bottom up, and the rising tide lifted all boats.

In 2026, AI is being driven relentlessly from the top, by just the few that can afford it. Will that mean it lifts only the yachts? Or will there be enough benefit for everyone?

I'm optimistic but we're only just getting started and it's impossible to know right now.
